See More Details >>RESPONSIBILITIES: • Operate and monitor a variety of machine shop equipment, including horizontal band saw, vertical band saw, and CNC milling machine. • Identify raw materials and cut to print using the horizontal band saw. • Follow engineering drawings and verbal/written instructions to produce accurate parts. • Perform in-process checks using measuring tools to ensure part quality. • Work to established production and quality standards. • Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to all Health & Safety policies, quality procedures, and work instructions. • Communicate issues related to production, tooling, or equipment to the Lead Hand or Management. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: • Grade 12 or equivalent. • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings is preferred. • Familiarity with standard measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges). Experience: • 1-3 years of experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment. • Experience with horizontal band saws and CNC machines is an asset. Specific Skill Ability and Knowledge: • Capable of safely operating machine shop tools and equipment including cranes and tow motors (training available). • Able to complete quality checks to verify accuracy against engineering specs. • Comfortable working independently and following clear instructions. • Willingness to learn machine setups, tool changes, and basic troubleshooting over time.
