CNC Operator/Machinist

Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC Machine; maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, maintaining equipment and supplies. Duties: • Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). • Programs mills and entering instructions, including zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation and conditional switches, indicating vices. • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces adhering to international standards. • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting. Including turning facing knurling and thread chasing operations. Taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, trouble shooting process, adjusting and reprogramming controls. Sharpening and replacing worn tools adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.. • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements. • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs. • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs. • Updates job knowledge by participating in education opportunities reading technical problems. • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different request, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Skills/ Qualifications: • Conceptual skills, process improvement, verbal communication, functional and technical skills. CNC Operator

CNC Operator Location: Youngstown, OH Hours: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift available, preference given to candidates that have open availability. Pay: $20/hour This is a contract to hire position Description: Set up, operate, or tend CNC machines to mill, plane, shape, groove, or profile metal or plastic work pieces. Duties: • Performs all assigned machine shop operations • Regularly performs milling, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing and sanding tasks • Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee • Remove workpieces from machines, and check to ensure that they conform to specifications, using measuring instruments such as microscopes, gauges, calipers, and micrometers. • Move cutters or material manually or by turning handwheels, or engage automatic feeding mechanisms to mill workpieces to specifications. • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed • Performs inspection of machined products, and documents results • Performs other related duties as assigned. CNC Machinist

Job Summary: The CNC Machinist will work in the machine shop and support operations. They will set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. They may also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. Job Duties: • Proficient setup, operation, and upkeep of conversational style machines for milling and drilling. CNC lathe, I.D. and O.D. grinders, surface grinders, saws, etc • Repair broken parts/tooling as necessary • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. • Perform continuous quality control of the parts and/or tooling in production • Authority to stop and/or modify work processes due to non-conformance and/or unsafe working conditions • Contribute to accomplishing organizational goals by accepting ownership for developing new methods, systems and processes, exploring opportunities for job enhancement Skills and Qualifications: • 5-7 years’ experience as a precision machinist with knowledge of conversational programming • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings for effective manufacture of precision components, including experience in tolerance standards management • Measuring skills using calipers, bore micrometers, and pin gauges • Mechanical ability using hand tools • Conceptual thinker, process improvement aptitude • Ability to remain organized and pay attention to detail • Must be a team player and possess a "can do" attitude • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs • Capable of safely operating lift assist equipment, minor rigging, hoist crane, etc • Excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write and communicate effectively Work Environment: This role will work in a clean, climate-controlled machine shop within a manufacturing facility.
