As part of Fort Walton Machining, you will continue our legacy to provide a top-notch service to our customer. Job Description Fort Walton Machining is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience. Summary Sets up and operates Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities. Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining. Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers. Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media. Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required. Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications. Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data. Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly. Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly. Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems. Qualifications Education and/or Experience 4+ years’ experience in CNC Machining in a job shop environment. High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Mathematical Skills Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Good working knowledge of geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing required and be able to work in both Metric and English units. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to make minor edits of CNC code at machine. Other Skills and Abilities Must be able to perform machine set-up of tools and offsets. Hold positional tolerances as a norm of .001”, be able to read and understand drawings; have good fundamentals of plate inspection layout; and use micrometers, depth gauges and calipers. Physical Demands Regularly required to walk or stand, use hands or fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crawl, talk, and hear. Occasionally required to climb or balance. Regularly required to lift and/or move 20 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Job Description Job Title: Quality Inspector Summary: Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process, compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. (will train these duties if needed). · Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas then confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards. · Tests at specific stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as: dimensions and mechanical characteristics. · Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures. · Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. · Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of customer specifications and equipment capability. · Prepares graphs or charts of data and enters data into computer for analysis. · Confers with management, other staff, and customers regarding defects. · Provides technical assistance to production personnel · Participates in cross functional teaming efforts. · Possesses the ability to use precision hand inspection tools (e.g. Thickness Meter, Gloss Meter, Micrometer/Caliper/Height Stand/Test Indicator/Protractor/Thread plug and ring gages. . .) Qualifications Education and/or Experience • High school diploma or GED equivalent. • Two years + experience in quality at a manufacturing facility preferred. • To perform this job successfully, you must be able to correctly read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and processes. Will train these skills if entry level candidate is chosen. • Excellent computer skills and MRP systems experience preferred. Must be able to vacuum and buff floors, shampoo carpets, empty trash receptacles, and replace lining of trash cans. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Maintain a clean and safe environment for the day-to-day operations of the facility. • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming. • Service, clean, or supply restrooms. • Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees. • Gather and empty trash. • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent personal injury and damage to floors and fixtures. • Dust furniture, walls, machines, or equipment. • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. • Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. • Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to the manufacturer’s specifications. • Move heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks. • Steam clean or shampoo carpets. • Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors. • Various maintenance duties include changing light bulbs in offices, inspections of fire extinguishers, emergency lights, filter press cleaning.
