CNC Operator

This role will be based on-site at our manufacturing facility located in Montgomery, Alabama. Norshield produces products in steel, stainless steel and aluminum to protect people, property and assets from threat of ballistic, forced entry and explosive attacks. As a CNC Operator (PRDTECH3) you would set up and operate the CNC laser cutting machine and efficiently process metal components to required quality standards. You would also: • Operate CNC laser cutting machine using different materials. • Perform precise cutting operations based on program specifications and material requirements. • Conduct quality checks on cut components to ensure accuracy and consistency. • Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring a high standard of housekeeping. • Ensure all work and raw materials are correctly identified and labeled. • Handle product and tooling correctly and safely at all times. • Identify and report any faults or damage to the machine, guarding, or components to maintenance and quality team. • Actively participate in continuous improvement activities. • Adhere to the ASSA ABLOY’s Health, Safety, Quality, and Environment policies The Skills and Experience You Need: • Experience setting up and operating CNC machines. • Ability to read and interpret cutting lists, engineering drawings, and CAD files. • Skilled in adjusting machine settings and parameters to ensure optimal cutting performance. • Organized and methodical approach to work, with the ability to meet tight deadlines. • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team in a factory environment. • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment. • Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and process improvement. CNC Machine Operator - Entry Level

Job Description CNC Machine Operator for a well established local company. Entry level applicants considered. As a CNC Machinist, you will produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine, or by setting up and operating a manual machine. Your specific duties in this role will include: • Planning machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and other resources, and interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) • Verifying machine settings by measuring positions and making first-run parts, and sample work pieces including but not limited to calipers, micrometer and height gage. • Adhering to international standards • Maintaining specifications and adjusting and reprogramming controls • Sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes • Maintaining safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations • Maintaining equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, troubleshooting malfunctions and requisitioning repairs • Maintaining a clean and safe work area • Keen eye for detail a must Work Experience • Minimum 1 years' experience setting up and operating CNC machinery. Entry level for the right candidate. • Ability to set up and operate manual and CNC Turrets and/or Lathes • Proficiency in the use of precision measuring tools with a keen eye for detail • Ability to work from blueprints, rough sketches and customer samples; comfortable working in a fast paced environment • Ability to work at a quick and steady pace with a sense of urgency • Ability to pass background check and drug screen Benefits Great Benefits with a well established family owned company.
