NOW HIRING - 1st Shift Machinist B&S Machine Shop has employment opportunities for CNC Lathe and CNC Milling Machinists as well as Conventional Lathe. We are looking for Machinist from experience to just starting their machinst journey. We have been in business for 40+ years and can offer stable employment for Machinists with a good work ethic. The successful candidate for this job will need: • Required to set up and operate a well equipped, well tooled Lathes and Mills to manufacture parts such as but not limited to, shafts, shaft sleeves, couplings, flanges, etc. • Critical diameters on the parts that we make can be as tight as .0005" and non-critical dimensions as loose as .032" while maintaining print required surface finishes. • Our products are machined from a wide variety of materials but the most common are 400 and 300 Series Stainless Steel and a wide variety of steels, bronzes, occasionally plastics. • Being located in the Sunny South the temperature outside can and does get pretty hot. To combat the heat we provide a comfortable work environment and keep our facility air-conditioned to reduce fatigue and make the work day pleasant. • B&S Machine provides ALL micrometers and precision measuring tools. We calibrate and verify these tools in house at regular intervals to insure the accuracy of our final product. • Each Machinist will be required to provide all other tools such as (but not limited to) a good roll around tool box, dial/digital calipers, end wrenches, dial Indicators, deburring knife, Allen wrenches (English and metric), non-marring hammer, etc. Job Info: The workday starts at 7:00 AM. At 8:45 we take a scheduled break. At 9:00 it's back to work until lunch at 11:30. After a 30 minute lunch, we start the afternoon run. The "Final Bell" dings at 3:30. Normally we work 5 days a week. Overtime is always available and sometimes necessary to keep up with shipments and customer demands. Sometimes overtime is required and cooperation is expected. Applicants will be required to take a mechanical aptitude test as well as test to display machining skills. You should be proficient in: • Troubleshooting Skills • CNC Programming • G-Code • M-Code • Manual Machining Skills • CAD/CAM Software • Shop Math Skills • Experience in a Manufacturing Environment • Basic Computer Skills Machines & technologies you'll use: • CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC) (Fanuc, Doosan, Dmg Mori Seiki) • Turning Lathe • Surface Grinder (Chevalier) • 3D Modeling (Autodesk Fusion 360) • 2D Drawings (AutoCAD) • Manual Grinder (Norton) • Manual Lathe (Clausing) • CNC Lathe (2-4 axis) (Doosan, Dmg Mori Seiki, Samsung) • Manual Vertical Mill (Bridgeport) • CAD Software (AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor) • Overhead Crane • CAM Software (Autodesk Fusion 360) • Calipers and Micrometers • Engine Lathe (Milltronics, Leblond, Sharp) • OD/ID Grinding Machine Salary info: $15 - $28 / hr

Equipment used to manufacture our products are lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, keyseaters, drill presses, hydraulic presses, cylindrical grinders and assorted hand tools. For accuracy and machinist convenience, our lathes and mills are equipped with digital readouts. Our products are machined from a wide variety of materials but the most common are 400 and 300 Series Stainless Steel and a wide variety of steels, bronzes, occasionally plastics.
