Role Overview We’re seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to set up, program, and operate turning centers producing shafts, sleeves, couplings, flanges, and other cylindrical parts. You’ll work to tight tolerances (as precise as 0.0005″) across a variety of materials—stainless steels, bronzes, and plastics—to ensure every component meets blueprint specifications.Key ResponsibilitiesMachine Setup & OperationLoad bar stock and tooling, establish reference points, and perform first-piece dry runs on CNC lathes.Program and adjust Fanuc-controlled turning centers with 12″–32″ chucks to optimize cycle times and part quality.Quality AssuranceInspect critical and non-critical dimensions using calibrated micrometers and precision gauges.Maintain measurement accuracy through regular tool calibration and in-house verification procedures.Process Documentation & MaintenanceFollow standardized work instructions for machine operation and preventive maintenance.Keep clear records of production parameters, tool changes, and maintenance activities.Team Collaboration & Continuous ImprovementCoordinate with colleagues to identify more efficient machining methods, tooling setups, and fixturing.Assist with periodic mechanical aptitude tests and skills assessments to uphold team competency standards.QualificationsExperience:Minimum of 2 years’ hands-on CNC lathe experience in a production or job-shop environment.Technical Skills:Proficient interpreting blueprints and GD&T callouts for tight-tolerance machining.Skilled with precision measuring tools (micrometers, dial indicators, calipers).Attributes:Strong problem-solving and prioritization abilities to manage multiple setups and production runs.Self-sufficient, detail-oriented, and eager to adopt new processes—from CAD/CAM programming to advanced tooling techniques.Salary info:$19 - $35 / hr
