Production Support Specialist

Job Overview The role of Mill Utility is a vital part of our PKGSP - Packaging & Specialty Papers team at our Brownville, NY facility. This position supports manufacturing operations on the paper machine, coater, and inspection winder. Key Responsibilities: • Perform tasks in a safe manner following proper work procedures. • Conduct inspections and document findings. • Monitor and stock operating supplies as needed or directed. • Move rolls from Machine, Calendar, and Rewinder areas. • Collect scrap and waste from process to bale. • Maintain a clean and organized work area. • Assist the Rewinder crew in preparing production materials. Required Skills and Qualifications: • 1 Year Machine Operating experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. • Mechanical Aptitude required. • BASIC MATH, READING, AND WRITING SKILLS REQUIRED. • Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance. • Ability to use a ruler or other measurement tools to ensure products meet customer expectations. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). • Ability to work shiftwork and weekends as needed. • Ability to work twelve (12) hours or more per day when needed. • Ability to respond to call-ins at any time of day or night when needed. • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment. • Ability to bend, kneel, squat, and stoop. • Ability to read and understand instructions, procedures, and equipment training manuals. • Ability to accurately read and record data. • Ability to climb stairs, steps, ladders, scaffolds, mobile lifts, and elevator platforms. • Ability to operate/use manual and powered material handling equipment such as hand dolly, chain fall, chain hoist, electric hoist, fork truck. • Ability to learn and utilize computer-based systems. Workplace Demands: • Working conditions are typical of a manufacturing environment. • Air temperatures can range from cold to hot. • Atmosphere may contain dust, fumes, and odors. • May include mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive, and radiation hazards. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required for certain tasks including safety shoes, safety glasses, protective gloves, hearing protection. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, work 12-hour shifts, perform repetitive tasks, routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk, reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and balance, sometimes in awkward or tight spaces, have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
