Maintenance Machinist

The Maintenance Machinist is required to perform machining and replacement operations for all machines, machine tools, hand tools and auxiliary equipment throughout the complex. Diagnose trouble on pneumatic, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and mechanical controlled mechanisms/machines. Changing over and set-up of production machines. Knowledge of physical properties of metals to perform machining operations and heat treating techniques. Electric, gas welding, brazing, cutting, silver soldering of metals. Machinist / Machine Operator (Full and Part-time available)

Lansing Enclosures engages in the fabrication of metal enclosures using a wide array of metal extrusions, vinyl clad steel and aluminum sheet. Our products have been used in a multitude of applications including but not limited to coronavirus testing, aerospace, television and electronics. By being able to talk directly with customers and then draw on our manufacturing experience and backgrounds in electrical and mechanical engineering, we can give them technical support both in the selection of the electronic enclosure that best meet their needs and then in the design of custom details. Because our customers always deal with the people who actually make their electronic enclosures, they receive high-quality products and services in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Responsibilities Perform a wide range of operations including setups, on various machines including: punch pressing, tapping, countersinking, drilling, shearing, milling, grinding and brushing. For the more experienced operator, we have several CNC mills as well. Rate of pay: $15/hr. – $25/hr. Required Qualifications Some ability to read shop drawings and blueprints. Reliable, hard working, able to work well with others when required, as well as the ability to work independently, and follow all safety protocols. But, most of all, aspires to work in a smaller manufacturing environment and flourish. Mechanical inclination preferred. Desired Experience High School Diploma, GED required. Basic reading and mathematical skills required. We are willing to TRAIN hard working, responsible individuals or hire someone with more experience and training. If you already possess the skills desired you may be eligible for a higher rate of pay based on expertise offered. Additional Job Details You will be asked to inspect and detect unusual conditions or defective materials as part of our ongoing Quality Assurance Program.
