Job Description JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for operation of machines in assigned department(s). PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsible for machine set-up both manual and computer driven machines. • Maintain quality production and safety standards. • Maintain high level of quality production by working to tolerance specifications of + 0.50 millimeters. • Troubleshoot problems and make appropriate adjustments to recover as quickly as possible from mechanical failures. • Perform preventive maintenance on machines. • Review production schedules and related information and confer with supervision to determine material requirements, identify overdue orders and to track material/orders. • Monitor status of all past due orders. • Assist in the training of temporary/new employees. • Arrange in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules. • Enter/scan data into RS6000 system. • Compile and maintain manual or computerized records such as material inventory, in-process production reports, and status and location of materials. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: • Must be 18 years of age by date of hire. • Ability to stand for long periods of time. • Ability to lift 40-50 pounds. • Ability to walk, stretch, bend, squat, and perform repetitive motions. • Must be safety minded. • Must show excellent attention to detail. • Ability to read and understand production paperwork and communicate with various departments and personnel to ensure all necessary workflow documentation and paperwork is completed • Ability to work respectfully with coworkers as part of a team is required. • Ability to read a tape measure. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use calipers. • Must have prior machine operator experience. • Ability to program the machine/tool, adjust tooling changes, and perform tooling changes. • Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor preventative maintenance. • Ability to read prints/specifications and set up, tear down, and clean up the line. • General computer and mathematical skills required. • Must have good communication skills. • Must be able to perform stretching exercises twice a day. • Must be able to wear required PPE specific to the job assignment requirements, such as gloves, steel toed shoes, hearing protection, and eye protection. • Must be able to evacuate independently when fire alarm systems sound. • Must be able to pass a drug screen and a criminal background check. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: • High school diploma or GED preferred. • Prior woodworking, construction, manufacturing, or factory work experience is a plus.
