CNC Operator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Operation of a CNC machine including power on, power off, manual functions such as jog, loading of parts, unloading parts, downloading computer programs posted on the company server • Read and understand optimization programs and maintain a computer work library of jobs past, present, future. • Perform inspection of completed parts and their adherence to the quality specifications. • Maintain paperwork flow. • Detect malfunctions in machine operations such as worn or damaged cutting tools. • Maintain a clean, safe work environment. • Maintain and document preventative maintenance functions. • Other duties as deemed necessary by management. Qualifications • Demonstrate an ability to learn and understand the workings and function of an xyz grid and view parts in a 2-d perspective. • Ability to describe to the maintenance team issues with the machine • Ability to communicate with team leaders and other team members. • Must be able to safely lift parts or pieces up to 50 pounds over short distances • Ability to trouble shoot programs and machine maintenance issues. • Operator needs to understand feed speeds, tool handling, cutting principles, measuring devices, tool holders Education and/or Experience • 3 to 5 years' experience working with a CNC router • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
