CNC Machinist / Programmer Location: Fathom Manufacturing – Centex Machining | Austin, TX Employment Type: Contract Reports To: Shop Manager / Production Supervisor About Fathom Manufacturing – Centex Machining Centex Machining specializes in high-precision CNC machining for medical and semiconductor industries. With advanced capabilities in multi-axis milling, turning, EDM, and laser etching, Centex delivers tight-tolerance parts in regulated environments. Position Overview We’re seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with strong Mastercam and CloudNC CAM Assist experience to support backlog reduction. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of CNC programming experience and be comfortable working with advanced CAM tools and multi-axis machines. Key Responsibilities • Program CNC machines using Mastercam and CloudNC CAM Assist for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis operations. • Import CAD models and tool libraries; generate and optimize toolpaths using AI-assisted CAM workflows. • Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes; select tools, fixtures, and materials. • Debug and edit G-code/M-code; verify toolpaths and simulate machining processes. • Perform first article inspections and use precision measurement tools. • Maintain documentation and quality standards in ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 environments. • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet delivery goals. Required Qualifications • 5+ years of CNC machining and programming experience. • Proficiency in Mastercam and familiarity with CloudNC CAM Assist. • Strong understanding of G-code/M-code, CNC controls (Fanuc, Haas). • Experience with tight-tolerance machining and precision measurement. • Ability to read technical drawings and CAD files. • Familiarity with regulated manufacturing environments. Preferred Skills • Experience with SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or AutoCAD. • Knowledge of fixture design, workholding, and post-processing techniques. • Exposure to AI-driven CAM workflows and cycle time optimization. • Understanding of FDA cGMP standards and quality documentation.
