CNC Machinist

Role Summary: The CNC Machinist will operate a lathe to machine parts and components for flow control valves, including shafts, plugs, seat ring, seat retainers, bodies…etc. The machinist will verify the quality of finished work with precision measurement tools (caliper, micrometer, bore gauge…etc). This is a second Shift position: Monday-Friday 4:00pm – 1:00am, including opportunity to work OT. Sometimes Saturdays and Sundays if the workload requires. There is a 5% shift differential. • * Must have experience with Mazatrol /Programming is a must. Responsibilities & Requirements: • Inspect first articles and verify the quality of the finished work by using precision measurement tools and demonstrating an in-depth understanding of specifications and quality workmanship. • Meet production goals relating to efficiency, schedules, and scrap/rework. • Clean and maintain machines and tools and keep an organized workspace. • Apply an understanding of the process flow of documents, materials, and parts through the manufacturing process. • Work closely with other machinists to discuss and solve problems relating to repairs and equipment. • Collaborate with inventory workers and engineers to status and discuss work-in-progress Preferred Experience / Skills: • 5+ Years min experience on CNC machines; able to Mazatrol; Fanuc Control. • Experience operating manual mills and lathes is a plus. • Expertise required in machining 300-series stainless steel and other materials such as Hastelloy C276, Monel 400, iron nickel and high chrome alloys. • Working knowledge of machine tooling and processing required • Skill required in using and interpreting precision measuring instruments. • Strong blueprint reading skills required • Personal commitment to quality workmanship, with an ability to assess and explain quality concern to others • Able to accurately and consistently follow detailed procedures in order. • An eye for detail to check drawings, part numbers, and materials, and to correctly complete routers and other paperwork. • Work collaboratively as part of a team, showing a professional attitude and a service-oriented mindset in a fast-paced, flexible environment. • Demonstrated track record of reliable, on-time attendance, able to work overtime and weekends as required. • Standing for long times required, repetitive arm motions, frequent lifting of 25 lbs with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. • Must be able to complete math problems quickly and accurately. • High School diploma or equivalent. CNC Machinist

Role Summary: Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. Includes precision instrument makers who fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments. May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. Equipment/instruments Precision Equipment Utilization – Interpret and use precision measuring. • Instructions and Drawings – Ability to read and interpret blueprints and geometric tolerances. • Internal Communications – Exchange information with people by having courteous interactions with them. • Policy and procedures - Works with guidance to understand policies and procedures, while making sure they match organizational strategies and objectives. • Other duties as assigned.
