Responsible for machining both Aerospace and Telecommunications industry parts Essential Job Functions • Capable of reading blueprints. • Capable of using all measurement tools necessary to check parts. • Capable of proving out machine programs. • Knowledgeable of TPM. • CMM experience a plus. • Knowledgeable of geometric dimensioning and tolerance. • Capable of selecting appropriate tools and fixtures to run jobs. • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, angle of cut or enters commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media. • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required. • Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or program control data. Non-essential Job Functions • Develop specifications from general description and draw sketch of part or product to be fabricated. • Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers or others to resolve machining or assembly problems. Requirements • Education/Experience: Associates Degree and 5+ years experience; Vocational/Technical Training Certification and 6+ years experience or High School Diploma, GED or equivalent and 7+ years experience. Qualifications Education & Experience: • High school diploma or GED and one year of experience in a relevant manufacturing environment or a completed training program. • Two years of experience in a relevant manufacturing environment or a completed training program preferred and operating lathes and mills. • Preferable experience in Okuma Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Must have knowledge of general operations of CNC machine to include proper set up of jaws and tightening of part. • Basic knowledge of FANUC controls. • Ability to read measuring tools such as measuring tape, pie tape and calipers. • Ability to read and understand prints, drawings. • Ability to detect defects with machining. • Basic math skills that include geometry and trigonometry to calculate material fabrication. Physical Conditions: Position requires constant standing, kneeling, raising of arms to exercise control of machine, and climbing to gauge progress of cutting. Occasional lifting of up to 50lbs. Exposure to high temperature in facility. Able to lift heavy equipment using hoists and forklifts. Able to stand for long periods and be adaptable to a changing work environment as well. Open to being exposed to noise, fumes and varying temperatures. Able to perform repetitive motions and must have strong finger dexterity. Overtime may be required on occasion.
