The Manual/CNC machinist is part of a dedicated team of fabrication specialists, who take on challenges and create unique solutions to Ergonomics, Safety, and production challenges in the manufacture of carbon fiber Aerospace parts. In this position the successful candidate will be expected to utilize both manual and CNC mills, lathes and grinders to create tools, jigs, and fixtures to be used in support of our manufacturing operations.. The candidate must be creative and be able to take on a variety of design and fabrication projects. This position requires the ability to identify the root causes of problems associated with facility and manufacturing equipment, and suggest, develop, and implement innovative solutions to solve those issues. • Operate manual knee mills, manual lathes, and manual surface grinders. • Complete work requests resulting in enhancements to facility and production equipment safety, ergonomics, quality and production capacity. • Perform advanced preventative maintenance on equipment such as shipping containers, racks, carts, and machining fixtures. • Operate, maintain, improve, and repair production and facility equipment. • Support facility and equipment related projects. • Intermediate to advanced skills operating typical machine shop equipment such as lathes, grinders, saws, or milling machines. • Welding skills • Operate a forklift • Intermediate to advanced skills relating to the operation of cranes and hoists, and knowledgeable in rigging techniques • Use hand tools such as drills, hand grinders, saws, hand sanders, etc. • Ability to recognize and mitigate potential safety hazards on job site and/or task. • Must be a team player and able to take direction from leaders in repair of critical and non-critical equipment, and completion of work requests. • Demonstrate understanding of all EHS requirements and policies. • Must understand and comply with 5S requirements • Maintain required training curriculum (Crane/Hoist, Forklift, etc.) • Capable of using CFAN maintenance systems to execute, disposition, and close all assigned tasks • Trains/Mentors as needed • Other duties as required REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • High School Diploma/GED, • 2-5 yrs of experience in operating Manual Knee Mills, Manual Lathes, and Manual Surface Grinders • Ability to convert solid models into tool paths to run CFAN's 4 axis CNC mills. • Experience in programming and operating CNC Mills. • Previous Maintenance or fabrication experience. • Solidworks and Mastercam experience is a plus Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Tool Room Machinist

Job Title: Tool Room Machinist Reports to: Senior Machinist Location: San Marcos, TX We have one goal: to manufacture quality magnets! We are looking for exceptional individuals who want to learn, build, and lay a foundation for our company for the years to come. About this role Noveon Magnetics is seeking a skilled Tool Room Machinist or Precision Grinding specialist to set up precision grinding equipment for production runs. In this role, you will be expected to set up and run and/or supervise the running of production style “through feed” surface grinders (both conventional and CNC), including Centerless grinders, Blanchard grinders, double disk grinders, and more. These machines will often need custom fixtures designed and made for different production parts, and you will need to work with other Tool Room machinists and our engineering department to craft solutions for different scenarios. What You’ll Be Doing: • Reading and interpreting blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings. • Visualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerances. • Designing jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of parts. • Setting up machine tools such as surface grinders, double disc grinders, centerless grinders, and Blanchard grinders. • Cutting and shaping blocks to specified dimensions. • Inspecting finished parts according to blueprint specifications. We are looking for someone who: • Has 20+ years’ experience working as a tool room machinist. • In-depth knowledge of machine tools and their uses. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and design schematics. • Extensive experience with machine tools including surface grinders, double disc grinders, centerless grinders, and Blanchard grinders. • Is comfortable with tolerances in the +/- .0002” range on precision grinding equipment. • Is receptive to learning new machinery and techniques. • Has experience with wire EDMs, hole poppers, Mazak and Mazatrol programming, and Solidworks. Physical Requirements: • Able to move up to 50lbs. • Possesses manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately. • Can wear PPE. • Comfortable standing for long periods of time, up to and exceeding 60 minutes. • Can make repetitive movements including, but not limited to, sitting, squatting and walking up and down stairs. What You’ll Be Doing: • Setting up machines to start a production cycle. • Determining the fixtures, attachments, and tools necessary to complete jobs according to specifications and mount them to machine prior to beginning cutting. • Feeding raw material or parts to semi-automated machines. • Bonding magnetic components in specific orientations to a range of substrates. • Inspecting parts with precision measuring tools. • Inspecting finished products for accuracy and uniformity to ensure product quality and uphold company reputation. • Maintaining machine production logs. • Performing daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks to ensure machine longevity, including but not limited to lubrication, cleaning, as well as coolant and tool replacement. • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. • Other Duties as assigned. We are looking for someone who: • Pays attention to detail. • Is self-motivated. • Possesses a high school diploma or GED equivalent. • Has experience with use of calipers, micrometers, indicators, set up blocks as well as a variety of gauges. • Has a willingness to help and fill in wherever needed. • Is able to provide clear and concise communication across multiple platforms. • Possesses strong analytical, communication and computer skills.
