Maintenance Machinist/Mechanic

Demonstrated Skills Use of an oxy-acetylene torch to cut and heat metal components. Use of welding equipment to provide secure weld joints in various mating angles. Plumbing – installation, pipe threaded, etc. Installation and/or repair of sprocket and belt power transmission assemblies. Pneumatics – understanding of the components and their use. Hydraulics – understanding of the components and their use. Troubleshooting and diagnostic of minor equipment such as conveyors. Troubleshooting and diagnostic of precision equipment such as scoring saws. Fabrication of equipment guarding, jigs, and minor equipment. Equipment rebuilding such as pumps, gearboxes, etc. Proper use of metal cutting equipment such as band saws, drill presses, etc. Broach keyways by hand and/or with automatic broach cutter. Proper use of engine lathe to turn shafts and produce machinery components. Proper use of vertical mill to cut keyways and produce machinery components. Proper use of surface grinder to prepare precision components. Training Complete CPR & AED training BJVS machine shop I or equivalent. BJVS welding I or equivalent. BJVS electrical I or equivalent. Hone Operator

Role: The role of this Machine Shop position is to operate Hones, including measuring using many types of tools including ID/OD Micrometers, using basic shop math, and changing Hone Heads. This position is considered entry level and trains the correct candidate to begin learning the basic skills necessary for Manual Machining and CNC Machining. Progression through our Machine shop is a long term goal so a willingness to learn is essential. Responsibilities: • Operate the large hone located in the machine shop • Operate the hand hone located in the machine shop* • Changing Hone Heads on both Skills required: • Reading ID/OD Micrometers • Basic Math (conversions metric to standard) • Crane Operation - will train • Fork Truck Operation - will train • Able to exert pressure needed to operate the hand hone • Ability to lift 50 lbs or more repetitively during an 8 hour shift • willingness to learn • ability to work well in a group setting • Excellent work ethic • MUST BE DRUG FREE • Hand hone operation is a very physical activity. The hand hone operator will be required to push and pull the hand hone equipment in and out of a tube for 30 minutes to an hour for each tube honed. The force required to push and pull the hand hone equipment could be equivalent to pushing and pulling 50-lbf. CNC Shop Manager

Shift Schedule: Regular Shift: 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM (Monday to Friday) Job Duties & Responsibilities: Supervision of ~10 union CNC machinists across multiple shifts - includes interviewing, hiring, scheduling, performance management, discipline, daily assistance, and training Scheduling for CNC department - includes reviewing overall plant & CNC workload, due dates, and machine and manpower availability. Make recommendations for outsourcing when necessary to meet delivery requirements Programming 3 & 4-axis CNC lathes and mills - includes interpreting drawings. Modelling using SolidWorks; programming using CAMWorks. Optimize programming workflows - includes building out CAM database for different materials, tooling, and feeds and speeds; modifying post processors; leveraging automation where possible. Participate in the purchase of new CNC equipment – includes participation in allocating CapEx budget; advising on vendors, types of machinery, features, and tooling; assist with project management for install and commissioning Participate in safety committee and enforce safety procedures Participate in quoting of new jobs by reviewing prints, recommending efficient setups, and estimating machining & setup times Required Skills & Experience: 2 years of hands-on CNC programming experience preferably with 4-axis lathes. 2 years of supervisory experience in an industrial environment. 2 years of project management experience in an industrial environment. Ability to read complex engineering drawings and understand GD&T. Proficiency in 3D modeling software (SolidWorks). Proficiency in CAM software (CAMWorks). Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint. Knowledge of G-code and M-code for common CNC controls (Fanuc, Haas). Experience with CNC setup, including tooling and fixture selection.
