In this role, you'll support the repair and maintenance of industrial AC/DC electric motors and generators by operating manual machine tools and balancing equipment. Precision and the ability to read technical drawings are essential to success. This includes setting up and verifying tooling and setting part offsets. Job Responsibilities • Knowledgeable in the use and application of precision measuring instruments. This would include calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators, and scales. • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, inserts, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required. • Responsible for loading parts, proving out programs, operating controls, setting offsets, simple program edits, and initial inspection of parts to ensure it meets tolerances. • Communicate with management, production control, quality, and other team members for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues. • Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment, to like new appearance, according to maintenance plans and established procedures. • May perform other duties as assigned.
