Chiller Technician - Service Technician

About the position The Chiller Technician position is a full-time role based out of Hays Service in Macon, GA, primarily servicing commercial HVAC systems on campus located in Valdosta, GA. The technician will report directly to the Service Manager in Macon and will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of chiller systems. This role requires a strong background in HVAC systems, particularly in chiller service work, which includes preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair or replacement of commercial HVAC equipment. The technician will utilize cutting-edge software and technology, along with various hand tools and rigging equipment, to diagnose and repair equipment according to blueprints or engineering specifications. The technician will be expected to inspect and test HVAC systems for proper operation, determine customer concerns, and follow established standards, policies, and procedures, including safety protocols. Effective communication with customers is essential to discuss system malfunctions, isolate problems, and verify resolutions. The technician will maintain all types of chillers, including various compressor technologies and chiller control systems, and will work with large chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and other HVAC equipment. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for recording and reporting faults, deficiencies, and unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders. Coordination with repair and maintenance teams will be necessary to assist in other work, and the technician will generate work orders to address deficiencies that require correction. This position is physically demanding, requiring the technician to regularly push and pull heavy loads, climb, crouch, and maneuver around obstacles to service HVAC equipment. The work environment is primarily field-based, with exposure to wide temperature variations, as some tasks will be performed outdoors. The technician must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods and will be expected to comply with all safety and operational protocols. Summary The Counter Sales Associate is responsible for our sales counter at one of our wholesale HVAC distributorships that carries multiple brands of equipment, parts, and supplies. The goal of this role is to provide strong customer service in a sales-oriented setting.
