HVAC Apprentice

Posting End Date Monday, September 8th Job Description This is a full-time apprentice position that repairs and services ventilating and heating equipment in all campus buildings. This position is responsible for gas furnaces, unit heaters, and small refrigeration units. The incumbent repairs and fabricates all duct work and sheet metal projects on campus. The incumbent supervises student employees. This position also is required to participate in a on call rotation for weekend coverage for boiler operators in the Central Energy plant. Knowledge, Skills & Experience Education: This is an apprentice position requires enrollment in the Idaho Apprentice Program and a working knowledge in operation and maintenance of standardized heating systems. Experience: Mechanical background Skills: This position requires mental alertness, good judgement, and the ability to withstand high noise levels. Must be capable of lifting at least 50 pounds. Job duties require significant squatting, bending, pushing, pulling, and other physical exertion. The employee needs to have the ability to learn and perform trouble shooting and needs to have knowledge of general safety regulations Certifications: Idaho State Apprentice Program Compensation General information available to applicants upon request. Energy HVAC Technician

The position of a HVAC Technician is of great significance to Valley Wide Cooperative. A person in this position is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditional (HVAC) systems. This position is responsible for performing all services in a safe and timely manner. This is a safety-sensitive position.
