HVAC Service Technician

Please note that this position is based on our campus in Madison, WI, and requires relocation to the area. We recruit nationally and provide financial relocation assistance. We're seeking a skilled and reliable Commercial Kitchen Equipment and Refrigeration Technician to ensure our state-of-the-art kitchens and onsite bakeries operate at peak performance. In this essential role, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of commercial kitchen appliances, refrigeration systems, and HVAC equipment for our 9 million square foot campus. Your expertise will help prevent equipment failures, minimize downtime, and support the seamless operation of our world-class culinary team. Key Responsibilities • Diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, and commercial cooking equipment • Install, calibrate, and optimize kitchen ventilation and appliance systems • Conduct preventive maintenance and safety inspections • Ensure compliance with OSHA, refrigeration, gas, and electrical safety standards • Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to resolve technical issues Core Equipment You'll Work On • Refrigeration: Walk-in coolers/freezers, blast chillers, ice machines • Cooking Equipment: Commercial ovens, fryers, steam kettles, tilt skillets • Ventilation & HVAC: Exhaust hoods, rooftop HVAC units, make-up air systems • Dishwashing & Sanitation: High-capacity dishwashers, automated sanitation systems Live affordably in a city known for its rising tech talent. Scope of work shall be limited to commercial HVACR service. Servicemen may partner with Journeymen in the repair of centrifugal, steam turbines, and open-drive screw chillers. Perform maintenance, repair and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems. What we look for Required • Be a dedicated member of a North America Branch team willing to learn and be responsible for system trouble shooting, repair and aftermarket services for this fast-growing business. • Must be a member or willing to join a local Union.   • Minimum of Three (3) years Commercial and/or industrial, mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry. This includes Rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, plumbing. • Mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators, etc. of pumps, fans, Compressors. • Able to use vibration equipment to trouble shoot drivelines. • Travel maybe required 10% to 20% to support Branch Customers activities, trouble shooting, installation and repair. • You will be required to pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.  • Opportunity to invest in career development.
