HVAC Service Technician

Overview: We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technician. As an HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. If you have a strong background in HVAC/R and are skilled in working with schematics and ammonia refrigeration, we encourage you to apply. Are you an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician looking for a dynamic and rewarding role? We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team. As a Commercial HVAC Service Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in a commercial setting. You will be working on a variety of equipment including boilers, chillers, and commercial/industrial HVAC systems. JOB SUMMARY: Commercial Service Technicians tasks include repairing commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems, repairing or replacing worn or defective parts, and fixing, repairing, or replacing all types of pumps, refrigeration equipment, pneumatic valves, electric valves, heat transfer equipment, ventilation, and air distribution equipment according to prints, specifications, diagrams, or other instructions. In addition, they calibrate thermostats and ensure appropriate temperatures are maintained; test pipe or tubing joints or connections for leaks using pressure gauges; repair walk-in coolers and freezers to ensure they are operating at required safe temperatures; test electrical circuits or components and make necessary repairs; and determine the HVAC/R systems' energy use and make recommendations to improve efficiency as part of an energy management system. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Installing new HVAC systems and components, including ductwork, piping, and electrical wiring, according to blueprints and specifications. • Identifying and resolving technical issues with equipment or systems. • Setting up and configuring new equipment or systems, ensuring proper functionality. • Performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely. • Identifying the root cause of problems and implementing effective solutions. • Explaining technical issues and repair procedures to customers in a clear and understandable manner. • Maintaining accurate records of service calls, repairs, and maintenance activities. • Adhering to safety protocols and regulations when working with equipment and tools. • Ordering and managing necessary parts and supplies for repairs. • Keep detailed reports of work done at various job sites. • Create cost estimates • Participate in Service “On-Call” schedule and dispatching emergency service. • Promote the company's services. • Perform other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge and Skills: • A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Commercial HVAC Service Technician. • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical components. Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing HVAC equipment. • Understanding of electrical wiring diagrams, circuits, and safety procedures. • Ability to calibrate and test thermostats. • Proficient in reading schematics. • Explain technical information clearly and effectively to customers. • Interact professionally and build rapport with customers. • Manage time, prioritize tasks, and maintain organized records. • Excellent customer service and communication skills. • Strong working knowledge of equipment and tools used in the industry. • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy equipment. • A commitment to safety and quality at all times. • Driver's License (Required) Job Type: Full-time Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour Benefits: • 401(k) 3% Match • Company truck • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Life insurance • Paid time off • Retirement plan Schedule: • 8 hour shift • Monday to Friday Work Location: In person
