LA Semiconductor is seeking a skilled and safety-focused HVAC Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial chillers that support critical systems in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, process cooling, and the unique environmental demands of cleanroom manufacturing. Duties & Responsibilities: • Diagnose and repair centrifugal, screw, and scroll chillers, including those used for ultra-pure water (UPW) and HVAC systems. • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and associated control systems. • Monitor and respond to alarms related to chilled systems. • Maintain proper documentation of all maintenance and repair activities. • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, EPA regulations (refrigerant handling), and cleanroom standards. • Assist with equipment installations, retrofits, and system upgrades. • Support emergency repairs and respond to on-call duties as required. Required Skills & Abilities: • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in chiller repair and maintenance, or related refrigeration discipline. Preferably in semiconductor, cleanroom, or industrial manufacturing environments. • Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, compressors, expansion valves, and control logic. • EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal) required. • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings. • Ability to work in a team environment. Individuals must be self-motivated and able to interface effectively with other groups and maintain organization with ability to prioritize one's tasks. • Experience with Trane, Carrier, or York chillers. • Experience in industrial manufacturing chiller systems • Knowledge of PLC or DDC controls and ability to interface with automated building systems. • Basic electrical troubleshooting and controls knowledge. • Strong attention to detail, with a focus on system uptime and process stability. • Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in cleanroom attire (gowning).
