Position Overview The Regional Maintenance HVAC Technician is a key part of the company's success. This individual will work at multiple job sites and is expected to provide exceptional customer service and developing a rapport by being both knowledgeable and friendly. The individual should have strong technical and communication skills and be able to complete small to medium projects alone or with a team. Skills And Qualifications • Proven proficiency in diagnosing and making repairs to residential-size heat pumps, air conditioners, gas furnaces, and packaged HVAC units • Previous apartment building maintenance experience preferred • Tech savvy and able to communicate via email and utilize online work order system • Ability to follow directions and to see tasks through to completion • Average written and verbal communication skills • Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug test • High school diploma or equivalent • EPA 608 Universal License required Primary Responsibilities • General apartment and building maintenance including but not limited to unit HVAC repairs, appliance installation and repairs, electrical and lighting repairs, plumbing repairs, preventative maintenance, snow removal, and other general maintenance tasks that may be requested. • Small to medium projects such as door and hardware replacements and kitchen and bath renovations. • Professional interaction with residents, prospective residents, co-workers, and vendors. • Works on-call, overtime, weekend, holiday, evening, and emergency work when required. Will perform other tasks requested by management. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift 80 pounds, climb and work on ladders, work with arms raised over head, stand/walk for long periods of time, climb stairs, bend at waist and knees to lift boxes, appliances, furniture, shovel snow, etc. Transportation Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Position requires frequent in-town travel and occasional out-of-town travel. Pickup truck or van preferred. See More Details >>Responsibilities: As an Installation and/or Service Technician with Woodruff and Smith Heating and Cooling, you will be responsible for ensuring consistent quality nstallation and servicing of residential and light commercial HVAC equipment at customer sites in compliance with company specifications and customer service standards. This position will include on-call duty during non-business hours (nights, weekends, and holidays) on a rotating basis. We are looking for Technicians with: • A customer-friendly attitude and a desire to meet/exceed customer expectations. • Experience with field visits to residential & lite commercial sites to install and/or service HVAC equipment to ensure efficient and proper function. Educate the customer on any issues/repairs that may be needed following inspection services and the efficient and proper use following equipment installation. • Installation and/or service experience with HVAC equipment to ensure efficient and proper function. Inspect HVAC equipment for potential defects. Use test equipment to analyze and isolate installation/service problems. Perform warranty service repairs. • A history of timely completion of all orders for installation and servicing of HVAC equipment and/or proper notification of delays. • Ability to sell HVAC equipment and maintenance service agreements • Reading and interpreting equipment diagnostics, diagrams, and operational/product manuals. Experience with trouble-shooting procedures. The successful candidate will have the following: • High School Diploma required. HVAC Trade School Diploma Preferred • Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record required. • Must be able to pass a nationwide background check and drug screening. • Interact with coworkers and customers in a positive manner, follow directions and work rules, and accept constructive feedback. Communicate often with dispatch and supervisors on status of work. • Problem-solving skills and able to think “on-your-feet.” • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications and organizational skills.
