Refrigeration / HVAC Senior Technician Job Summary of Refrigeration / HVAC Senior Technician: This position supports the maintenance and repair of commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems within retail facilities. The role requires applying technical expertise to troubleshoot, service, and ensure optimal operation of refrigeration assets, while adhering to safety and environmental regulations. Job Duties and Responsibilities of Refrigeration / HVAC Senior Technician: • Maintain and repair refrigeration and HVAC equipment using hand tools, digital tools, and power tools to complete assigned tasks. • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize operational downtime. • Utilize work order management systems to receive, document, and track repair activities effectively. • Inspect, operate, and test equipment to diagnose malfunctions and identify necessary repairs. • Comply with safety policies and environmental regulations including OSHA and EPA guidelines. • Lift up to 75 pounds and perform work at heights safely using ladders and other equipment. • Complete all required training to maintain safe and effective operation of tools and equipment. Qualifications and Experience of Refrigeration / HVAC Senior Technician: • Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance, particularly with large-scale rack refrigeration systems. • EPA certification for refrigerant handling (Type I, Type II, or Universal) is required. • Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass motor vehicle record checks. • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in HVAC/R preferred. • Preferred qualifications include completion of a 2-year technical or associate’s program in HVAC/R and experience with glycol and CO2 systems.
