About Us Founded in 1977, Triangle Contractors is a growing full-service mechanical contractor focused on delivering turnkey HVAC and mechanical services to a strong base of commercial, and residential customers. Triangle is located in Morganton, North Carolina and services a wide range of customers throughout Central and Western North Carolina. Triangle Contractors is looking for a skilled and dedicated Commercial HVAC Technician to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various commercial heating, cooling, and ventilation systems for projects in the Hickory, NC area. Key Responsibilities: • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in commercial heating, cooling, and ventilation systems • Prioritize safety • Provide high-quality service and maintain excellent customer relationships. • Manage truck stock and maintain inventory according to company guidelines. • Keep truck and work areas clean, organized, and well-maintained in line with the maintenance schedule. • Read and interpret wiring diagrams to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented HVAC Technician to join our team and assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing heating and cooling systems. The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience in cleaning air quality equipment, performing maintenance procedures, and providing emergency repairs as needed. As an HVAC technician, you will also travel and prioritize calls based on business goals and perform necessary installations and repairs. Responsibilities: • Operates, maintains, installs, repairs, replaces, troubleshoots, test HVAC systems and its components (heat recovery systems, cooling coils, steam humidifiers, heating coils, condensate return systems, hot and cold water systems, pumping systems, air handlers, exhaust fans, VAVs, CVs, air compressors, steam traps, PRV stations, and building automation system) and Process Equipment and its components (autoclaves, tunnel washers, bottle washers, and rack washers). • Perform Preventive Maintenance inspections HVAC and Process Equipment Systems according to established schedule and provide input for upgrade or modification. • Assists in the installation and commissioning of new and modification of existing HVAC and Process Equipment Systems and its components. • Provides training and mentoring to others in the operation and repair of HVAC and Process Equipment Systems and its components. • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Provides general clean up, housekeeping, and maintenance of machinery and electrical spaces. • May require rotating on-call status and occasional shift work including nights, holidays and weekends. Requires ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime as required. • Travel for reasons such as training or project support. • Other miscellaneous duties may be required to be performed based on needs of the day. HVAC Technician Requirements: • 2+ years commercial HVAC experience. • Ability to lift 75 lbs self-sufficiently. • Ability to work from step ladders and climb extensions or fixed ladders. • Advanced customer service skills. • Demonstrate willingness to accept responsibility for assigned tasks and leadership of those less skilled. • Formal HVAC education preferred and strong mechanical background. • Competency in refrigeration fundamentals to include liquid subcooling, suction and discharge superheat. • Fluent electrical meter usage skills. • Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, components on them and HVAC related symbols. • Be familiar with a wide range of equipment and troubleshooting techniques. • Experience evaluating repair or replace decisions based on equipment condition and life expectancy. • Knowledge of basic sheet metal practices. • Universal EPA/CFC Certification.
