The Role: This is an entry level position designed to give the individual the opportunity to experience all aspects of the trade, allowing them to make an informed career choice. You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced Journeymen while gaining practical skills in the fabrication of, installation of, and maintenance of commercial sheet metal systems to include, ductwork, hanger supports, and equipment. Through this work you will learn the foundational elements of: • Basic Blueprint Reading: Understanding drawings and specifications to accurately design, fabricate and install sheet metal systems. • Sheet Metal Fabrication Techniques: Cutting, measuring, bending, and assembling sheet metal components using hand tools and power tools. • Installation Skills: Basic techniques for installing ductwork, vents, and other sheet metal components. • Tools and Equipment: Proper use and maintenance of hand tools and power tools. • Safety Practices: Proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols. • Teamwork and Collaboration: Effective collaboration with team members and the importance of clear communication on job sites. Qualifications: • Desire to learn • Ability to and committed to working in a safe manner • Interpersonal Communication skills • GED or High School Diploma • Safe Driving Record Physical Requirements • Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, climbing, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., and operating tools. • Visual and auditory acuity required for job site activities. • Frequent standing, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling. • Frequent reaching overhead. • Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and scaffolding for extended periods.
