See More Details >>Job DescriptionJob Description Job Description • Have a proven understanding of commercial-industrial HVAC-R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration) systems, and HVAC-R building automation controls. • Work independently on commercial HVAC-R mechanical equipment including but not limited to boilers, chillers between 50 and 150 tons, cooling towers, makeup air systems, ventilation systems, package heat/cool rooftop units from 10 to 125-ton capacities, large split systems, precision cooling systems for computer rooms, variable refrigerant flow systems, etc. • Troubleshoot and perform corrective repairs, and maintenance work on commercial – industrial HVAC-R equipment. Perform scheduled tasks and respond to service calls. • Ability to perform HVAC-R installations that are implemented through the HVAC-R service department including but not limited to refrigeration piping, small mechanical piping systems, installing applied HVAC-R equipment, control upgrades, etc. • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults on commercial – industrial HVAC-R systems. • Document all work performed by accurately completing field service reports, and equipment document sheets, etc. • Complete and submit all required paperwork on a timely basis. • Provide recommendations for system improvements, upgrades, and replacements • This position will require scheduled/rotational on call duties which would include after normal working hours, weekends, and holidays. Interact face to face with customers to ensure proper and accurate communications exist. • Exhibit professional appearance and conduct at all times when communicating with customers and colleagues. • Complies with all company safety regulations. General Requirements • Associate degree or equivalent from a Technical / Trade School with a certificate in HVAC-R service. A 5-year apprenticeship in HVAC-R service is preferred. • A minimum of 10 years’ related experience preferred. • Ability to utilize necessary software to process paperwork (ex. iPad/Computer) • Must pass pre-hire requirements including background check, motor vehicle report, and drug screening. • Preferred Building Automation experience/Factory training • Preferred State of Ohio Backflow certification Physical Requirements: • All candidates for this position should be reasonably physically fit and capable of picking up a 60 lb. tool, piece of equipment or piece of material and moving it about either on a jobsite, at a vendor, our warehouse, etc. • All Service Techs typically load and unload materials for projects and move these materials into place at the project. This may involve movement carrying a load in tight and difficult situations and on uneven terrain. • All candidates may be required to climb and work off ladders and aerial lifts as required to accomplish their work within buildings and on roofs. • All candidates will be familiar with the safe operation and capable of using hammer type drills and similar tools. • Environmental conditions may range from outdoors at all times of the year to indoors at normal office conditions to indoor utility plants.
