A-1 Electrical Contractors Inc. is currently expanding its electrical specialists' team. A-1 is seeking experienced commercial electricians to join our Greater New Orleans and North Shore projects on a full-time basis. Skills and Abilities: • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the electrical trade. • Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations. • Knowledge of electrical application for high and low voltage electric system. • Skill in the installation, repair and maintenance of all types of electrical system equipment and components. • Skilled in New Commercial Construction • Skilled in both verbal and written communication Requirements and Qualifications: • Completed electrician apprenticeship • Large Scale Commercial/ Residential projects • Proficiency with the National Electrical Code and local codes • Valid Class D license • Ability to read blueprints • Must be able to comply to a criminal background check and drug test Preferred: • CDL class A license • OSHA 10 certified Physical Requirements: • Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring. • Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding. • Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits. • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. • Must be able to climb ladders. Northshore Electrical Apprentice

A-1 is seeking driven Electrical Apprentices to join our team assisting electricians with installing and maintaining electrical and power systems. Essential Functions: • Assist in installing electrical systems. • Install sound systems, security systems, voice and data systems, lighting, ceiling fans, electrical outlets, and circuit breakers. • Thread conduit ends and connect couplings and conduit fittings using wrench. • Secure brackets to bulkheads with screws and bolts and pull wires through conduit leading to connection boxes, switch panels, and other terminals. • Use tools such as conduit benders, screwdrivers, pliers, knives, hacksaws, and wire strippers. • Replace faulty fuse boxes, circuit breakers, fuses, switches, electrical and electronic components, or wire. • Hook up appliances for power. • Repair motors, transformers, generators, and electronic controllers on machine tools and industrial robots. • Consult with engineers, engineering technicians, line installers and repairers, or industrial machinery mechanics and maintenance workers when performing installations. Skills and Abilities: • Must be able to browse electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints. • Must possess communication skills, self-supervision, and respect for safety needs. • Must possess team spirit, and be able to work closely with maintenance, production, and engineering, and out of doors services. • Must be ready to do overtime work if the need arises.
