Electrician - Journeyman

SUMMARY: This position is assigned to an Idaho National Guard facilities maintenance organization functioning within the State of Idaho – Military Division. The primary purpose of this position is to oversee electrical contractors’ work, non-journeyman apprentice and journeyman electrical work, and to provide electrical maintenance and minor construction services in the electrical trades. MILITARY DIVISION MANDATORY QUESTIONS: (1) Except for minor traffic offenses, have you ever entered a plea of guilty, no contest, or had a withheld judgment to a felony offense? If YES, please explain on a separate paper and attach it to your application. (2) Do you certify that I am a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or a Foreign National with authorization to work in the United States? MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: (1) Must be an enlisted member or Warrant Officer of the Idaho National Guard. Provide your military grade, job title, MOS/AFSC and unit of assignment. This requirement will be waived. Please indicate your request for a waiver. (2) Must have and maintain a valid and unrestricted state issued driver’s license (from any state). Provide your driver’s license number, issuing state, license expiration date, and the full name specified on the license. (Do not provide a copy of your driver’s license.) (3) Must have, or be eligible to obtain, and maintain a favorable T1 Federal Background Investigation. If a selected candidate does not have a current favorable T1, as a condition of employment he/she must submit to the investigation process immediately upon hire/appointment. (At a minimum, a favorable suitability determination by the State Security Manager is required prior to appointment into this position.) (4) Must have and maintain a current Idaho Journeyman Electrician license. (Attach a copy of current license to your application.) REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Must have 24-months of experience performing work related to the knowledge requirements below. Submit a paragraph for each knowledge requirement that demonstrates the required experience and describes competence in applying the knowledge. Education and training may be used to offset experience. (1) Describe your knowledge of purchasing and contracting methods. Explain past duties you have performed in supervising contracts. (2) Describe your skill in commercial, industrial and residential electrical wiring techniques. (3) Describe your ability in trouble shooting fire alarms, security alarms, information technology data systems, and control systems. (4) Describe your skill and ability of reading and interpreting contract and construction documents. (5) Describe your skill in ordering repair parts and equipment in your work experience. (6) Describe your ability supervising individuals in the electrical field or other trades. Include levels of supervisory positions held, how many journeyman level technicians and apprentices you have overseen, and what types of work you supervised. Licensed Electrician

We are looking for Licensed Journeymen Electricians to join our Quality Service Team! You will perform Journeyman (or higher) level work in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems in semiconductor, high-tech, industrial or related industries. Roles and Responsibilities: Ensures reliability and safety of electrical systems. Perform routine electrical preventive maintenance tasks. Perform routine and specialized electrical equipment inspections as well as routine electrical and controls troubleshooting on various equipment including variable frequency drives, low voltage and medium voltage starters and switchgear, motors, etc. Provide support for new equipment start-up and supporting electrical activities. Interface with all other facilities teams working closely with other contractors, engineers and client in conducting electrical testing and maintenance. Position Requirements and Qualifications: 7+ years of relevant experience supporting construction and industrial environments. Strong knowledge is required in the following areas: local and national codes; construction drawings/symbols; acceptable industry standard/practices; etc. Must be able to read and understand building prints/drawings. Effective communication with a variety of individuals including but not limited to engineers, customers, trades people, inspectors, project managers, and other electricians. Proficiency with a computer and ability to coordinate daily scheduled activities is strongly preferred. Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, ladders, scaffolds, and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment. Apprentice Electrician
