Job Description Summary/Objective A Journeyman Electrician 1 is the first level of licensed Journeyman Electrician. Works under the guidance of a Foreman or Superintendent in installations, alterations, additions, and/or repair of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment on any type project. A Journeyman 1 may be required to perform any of the duties and responsibilities associated with classifications E4, A8. In addition, a first level Journeyman: 2. Lays out work and preps materials for installation. 3. Performs underground layout and rough-in. 4. Determines wire and conduit sizing. 5. Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and hand or mechanical benders. 6. Installs BUSS feeders. 7. Performs switchgear installation and terminations. 8. Installs and connects power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus in new and existing facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints. 9. Troubleshoots and resolves problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment. 10. Operates any hand tools and equipment necessary to perform all associated tasks. 11. Performs other project related duties and assignments as instructed by supervisor. 12. Meets attendance standards and complies with late/absence notification procedures. Skills/Competencies 1.
