Job Description: Highly technical, supervisory and hands on work in the Structures and Grounds Division, in the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical and high technology systems in town buildings and facilities; all other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma with college level associates degree in technical courses in electronics and/or electrical trade; over seven years' experience as a reliable, full time technician/electrician, of which two years have been in an industrial setting; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Massachusetts Class D driver's license required. Master Electrician's license required. S-license from the Department of Public Safety preferred. Must have the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment. Additional Qualifications: Thorough knowledge of the various types of materials, equipment, tools, methods and techniques used in the installation and maintenance of electrical wiring, process control systems, HVAC, traffic management, energy management, alarms, Datacom, and telecommunications. Knowledge of BISCI telecommunications/data codes, local building and fire codes and OSHA regulations. Ability to read and interpret detailed plans, schematics, ladder logic, drawings and specifications. Ability to design and prepare cost estimates and bills of material for routine repair and special projects. Ability to coordinate and work with all other building trades. Ability to supervise work crews and instruct them in the proper handling and efficient use of tools and materials.
