The Right Seat: Experienced Carpenter The Experienced Carpenter plays a vital role in the restoration and rebuilding process, bringing properties back to life after fire, water, or storm damage. You’ll be accountable for delivering high-quality structural and finish carpentry on time and to standard—ensuring that every job site reflects the Monroe difference. Reports to: Elkhart Branch Manager Location: Elkhart, IN (Project-based travel within Northern Indiana) Employment Type: Full-time + Rotating On-call Fire Board-ups Pay Range: $22–$28/hour based on experience + quarterly performance-based bonuses Roles & Responsibilities 1. Structural Restoration & Framing (Winning Together) • Repair and reconstruct damaged structural components including walls, floors, and roofs • Read and interpret blueprints and job scopes to execute efficient, code-compliant repairs • Work alongside project managers and subcontractors to maintain timelines and quality 2. Finish Carpentry & Interior Detail (Relationships Matter) • Install trim, baseboards, cabinetry, doors, and other finish carpentry elements • Complete detailed woodwork with a high level of craftsmanship and pride • Respect each client’s home or business as if it were your own 3. Custom Fabrication & Problem Solving (Coachable) • Build and install custom components including shelving, built-ins, and specialty features • Think creatively to solve structural or aesthetic challenges on the job • Remain flexible and open to adapting methods as needed 4. Quality Control & Documentation (Winning Together + Coachable) • Perform regular inspections to ensure completed work meets company and client standards • Communicate job status, material needs, and potential delays with project management • Maintain clean and organized job sites at all times 5. From entire homes to the finishing touches of furniture, cabinetry, custom stairways, sculptures and more. We seek a highly skilled and experienced custom cabinet maker with a passion for continuous growth and interest in learning new skills to lead our custom cabinetry production and installation efforts. Primary responsibilities include: Artisan custom cabinetry: Building and installing custom cabinetry, furniture, trim, finish carpentry and related hardware (hinges, handles, etc.) according to dimensions specified in plans and blueprints. Matching materials and grains to create uniform appearance for matching units. Reinforcing joints to ensure sturdiness and durability without compromising aesthetics or function. Estimating: Assess custom cabinetry project needs, materials, and labor to determine related budgets. Leadership / Quality Assurance: Directing and teaching other carpenters and field crew members assisting with cabinetry projects. Holding everyone to the highest quality standards. Material stewardship: Being exact in measurements and markings to ensure all materials are used efficiently and project budgets are honored.
