Commercial Construction Carpenter

About the role To meet the demands of our rapidly growing customer base, Cressy Construction is seeking dedicated Carpenters to join our team. This a full time, year-round position with a continually growing company. To do well in this role you should be physically fit, able to load and unload heavy materials, be reliable, and a hard worker. We are looking for individuals that have experience working on commercial projects and can keep up in a fast paced, construction environment. A valid driver’s license, residency and dependable transportation are required. Qualifications • Ability to work in a team environment and follow direction • Willingness to learn • Knowledge of general construction • Experience in operating hand tools and equipment • Involves the operation of small equipment and tools, including saws and drills • Valid driver’s license • Painting / finishing ability preferred • Ability to document daily progress • Ability to multi-task and prioritize with time constraints • Take initiative on the job site • Self-motivated • Reliability is a necessity • Possess a strong-work ethic Must be able to pass a background screen and drug test (required) We reward talent. Finish Carpenter

This position will persist of the following daily tasks: 1. Cleaning, Sweeping, Emptying Trash/Debris, and securing all Tools, Cords, and Hosed prior to clocking out. 2. Typically working alone, with the understanding that others may need assistance on and off. Which you would/should provide if able. (Depending on the circumstances) 3. Review any documents entirely and fully understand the project prior to starting. If there are any items that you are unsure of, get with the project manager to clarify. 4. Select any materials needed to proceed. Keeping an eye on quality. 5. Prepare any cut lists you may need on sheet goods for the CNC to machine/prep. 6. Assembly Cabinets, Desks, Windows, etc. as required for each project. Your position will typically complete an entire item from start to finish. 7. If wood is being stained/varnished; you will ensure all finish sanding has been completed. In this position you may also experience the following tasks on any given day: 1. Empty trash cans and/or hopper into dumpster. 2. Assist others with their projects to help meet timelines. 3. Help put away any stock materials that may be delivered. 4. If you can/want to be trained on the forklift, help unload and/or load deliveries. 5. Assist with lifting as a group if needed by anyone in the shop. 6. Any other tasks not listed but are typically found in a millwork shop.
