We are looking for an assembly worker with either carpentry experience or good painting/finish skills to cut, fabricate and install wooden and other structures according to drawings and specifications or to complete fiberglass assemblies in their final steps prior to delivery. Your job will entail working in diverse settings to produce steady and functional products. An assembly worker with skill in carpentry or finish painting is an individual with great hand dexterity and an eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials or painting skills. Working with little supervision while following safety standards is essential. The goal is to contribute to the construction and maintenance of strong and long-lasting buildings and products. Responsibilities • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements • Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed • Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements • Build frames, doors, and frame small buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items • Lay out floorings, roofings or other sheeting ensuring they are leveled and compatible • Final Assembly will include assembling structures and items of wood, fiberglass, aluminum and steel as needed to suit the products they are being utilized on. • Detail finish work including painting and trimming to produce a product that represents attractiveness, strength and professionalism Skills • Proven experience as assembly worker with carpentry experience OR • Proven experience with painting • Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials OR • Experience with painting especially in regards to finish work • Good to Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction • Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.) • Ability to read technical documents and drawings • Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times • Good knowledge of English • Good understanding of basic math • Good physical condition and endurance • High school diploma; Successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is optional but is a plus Job Type: Full-time Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour Benefits: • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Experience: • Carpentry: 3 years (Required) License/Certification: • Driver's License (Required) Work Location: In person
