0957 - Carpenter - Journeyman (Vidalia, GA)

About the position Responsibilities • Use appropriate hand and power tools to measure, cut, assemble and install forms, rebar, embeds and anchor bolts. • Construct built-in-place or prefabricated wooden forms according to specifications for molding concrete structures. • Erect built-in-place forms or assemble and install prefabricated forms. • Insert spreaders and tie-rods between opposite pieces to maintain specific dimensions. • Anchor and brace forms to fixed objects using nails, bolts, anchor rods, steel cables, planks and timber. • Build wooden structures such as scaffold supports and frame shelters according to specifications. • Pour concrete into finished forms to specified textures and finish concrete surfaces to specifications. • Remove rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces using power grinder or chisel and hammer. • Participate in all safety related processes and programs as requested. • Engage with your work team to ensure zero injuries. • Report all accidents and near misses to supervisor; participate in investigation process as needed. • Coordinate work with other crafts and co-workers on the job. • Provide on-the-job training and/or mentoring to helpers and laborers. Requirements • At least 3 years of experience working as a carpenter or similar craft. • Strong working knowledge of the erection of all types of concrete structures. • Working knowledge of auto-level and transit for accurate lay-out and verification of finished grades. • Thorough knowledge of steel framed forms and proper tying techniques for rebar. • Must have all necessary tools as per the Industrial Carpenter tool list. • Must be at least 18 years of age. • Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements. Nice-to-haves • NCCER Concrete Finishing certification. • NCCER Carpenter certification. • NCCER Reinforcing Ironwork certification. • NCCER Rigger certification. • NCCER Scaffolding certification.
