Job Title: Phlebotomist-Certified About the Role We are seeking a skilled and experienced Phlebotomist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, maintaining specimen integrity, and resolving discrepancies. Key Responsibilities • Verify test requisitions by comparing information with nursing logs and resolve discrepancies. • Verify patient identification with two unique identifiers. • Obtain blood specimens by performing venipunctures and finger sticks. • Maintain specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following department procedures and observing isolation procedures. • Collect therapeutic drug-monitoring assays by working with the nursing staff to ensure appropriate drug dose to collection time. • Track collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting times of collection. • Maintain quality results by following department procedures and testing schedules. • Resolve unusual test orders by contacting the physician, pathologist or nursing station. • Comply with all safety and infection control policies and practices. • Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements To be considered for this role, you must have: • A high school diploma or equivalent. • A Phlebotomy certification from an approved agency. • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
