Scull Construction Carpenter Laborer Job Description Job Summary: At Scull Construction, a carpenter laborer is responsible for assisting carpenters and carpenter's helpers in the building, installing, designing, and repairing structures, fixtures, furniture, and other items using different types of materials, including wood, plastic, metal, and other materials. The position's skill set is continuously increasing by working with an exceptional team that prides itself on doing some of the finest and most challenging projects in the northern plains region. Structures Carpenter - South Dakota

Summary General Excavating is an award-winning contractor serving public and private owners throughout the Midwest. General Excavating specializes in the construction of underground utilities, environmental remediation, excavation shoring, directional drilling, hydro-excavation, and heavy civil including bridge and concrete structures. General Excavating is searching for a highly motivated and detail oriented Structures Carpenter. This position is responsible for assisting in the general operations of box culvert and/or bridge construction projects. Workmanship must meet the specifications of the project under supervision of the onsite foreman and project management team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned: • Carpenters will perform various carpentry tasks involving physical labor and the use of hand or power tools box culvert and bridge construction projects. • Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using a tape measurer, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge. • Verify layout and elevations of a structure, using a transit or level. • Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand and power tools. • Ability to accurately read project specifications and plans or sketches, to layout structures, and determine dimensions or proportions of materials required. • Assemble and fasten materials to build wood and steel form systems used to cast concrete structures using hand or power tools, and screws, nails, or other hardware pieces. • Erect and dismantle forms and other supports for assembling structures. • Align, place, and tie reinforcing steel mats and cages of various sizes. • Assist in setting girders, stripping formwork decks, and other structure construction activities in all phases of construction as assigned. • Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures, and repair or replace, using hand or power tools. • Assist with pouring, distributing, and finishing concrete. • Thoroughly and effectively communicate with foremen and crew members to resolve construction related problems to eliminate delays and maintain efficiency. • Promote safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment including compliance with all safety rules and regulations established by the company and project owners. • All other duties as assigned.
