We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Remodeling Journeyman to oversee, coordinate, and execute diverse construction and remodeling projects. The ideal candidate is an experienced multi-trade professional capable of managing a crew, maintaining project schedules, and delivering superior quality results across all phases of residential and light commercial construction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Crew Leadership & Project Oversight • Serve as the primary site leader, supervising and directing crew members and any assigned helpers to ensure efficient task completion. • Coordinate daily activities, schedules, and resource allocation to meet project timelines and budget targets. • Conduct continuous quality control inspections, verifying that all work meets company and industry standards before moving to the next phase. • Maintain strict compliance with all relevant safety regulations (OSHA, local codes) and conduct site-specific safety briefings. • Provide on-the-job guidance and training to junior team members on construction techniques and best practices. 2. Hands-on Trade Execution • Execute advanced carpentry and finishing work, including intricate trim carpentry, cabinet installations, and custom built-ins. • Perform high-quality installations of various flooring types (e.g., laminate, tile, hardwood). • Complete proficient interior and exterior painting preparation and application. • Construct and repair exterior structures such as decks, porches, and fencing. • Engage in the hands-on physical work necessary for project success, including demolition, framing, and site preparation. 3. Operational & Planning Support • Manage and track construction materials and inventory, ensuring correct materials are ordered, delivered, and secured on time to prevent delays. • Provide accurate input and detailed documentation to assist with project estimating and planning (including scope-of-work changes). • Ensure all company tools, vehicles, and equipment are maintained and used responsibly. Required Qualifications • Proven Journeyman/Lead-level experience (5+ years) in residential and/or commercial construction. • Advanced proficiency in a minimum of four core trades: finish carpentry, cabinet installation, flooring, and painting. • Demonstrated expertise in the safe and effective use of a full range of power and hand tools specific to the trade. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications accurately. • Possession of a personal set of essential trade hand tools and basic power tools. • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. • Valid driver's license with a clean record.
