What You Can Expect Working in the Framer/Carpenter (Shop Technician) Position The Framer/Carpenter (Shop Technician) works under the direction of the Production Supervisor and is responsible for the interior build-out of the construction of blast-resistant buildings and other industrial buildings. As a Framer/Carpenter (Shop Technician), you will be utilized in various stages of the manufacturing process including, but not limited to sandblasting, insulation, painting, framing, flooring, interior wall finishes, and window and door installation. Responsibilities • Interprets blueprint drawings to accurately construct interior finishes on industrial buildings utilizing hand or power tools and appropriate materials. • Produces work in accordance to industry standards. • Cross-trains in various construction skill sets and uses skills in multiple stages of the manufacturing process. • Examines products or work to verify conformance to specifications and ensure quality of products or work. • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. • Follows established safety and security rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area and environment. Minimum Qualifications • 6+ months of construction-related experience. • Ability to read a tape measure and practice basic arithmetic. • Ability to use hand tools and power tools. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to follow instructions and provide consistent work. • Works well as part of a team. • Basic computer skills.
