Position: Carpenter Reports to: Project Superintendent Job Overview: The Carpenter is responsible for performing various carpentry tasks on job sites, adhering to project specifications, and ensuring the quality and safety of work. They work under the direction of Project Superintendent and are expected to carry out their duties efficiently, safely, and with attention to detail. Physical Requirements: • 40-hour work week, with 8 hours per day of manual labor • Daily travel to and from job sites • Ability to lift, carry, and manipulate materials • Work on feet for extended periods Qualifications: • Valid driver’s license • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in carpentry • Reliable transportation to and from job sites Key Responsibilities: • Read and interpret plans and specifications • Accurately lay out foundations, building lines, walls, and anchor bolts • Conduct elevation and grade measurements • Monitor concrete pours to ensure correct placement of anchor bolts and building lines • Perform wood and minor metal stud framing • Install metal door frames, doors, hardware, millwork, trim, and cabinets • Install specialty items such as toilet partitions and accessories • Safely unload, receive, and inventory materials • Assist and mentor junior carpenters to improve skills and efficiency • Complete tasks within designated timeframes and in a workmanlike manner • Adherent to all safety protocols and company policies • Maintain and secure all necessary tools for job duties • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively · Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment · Must be able to lift and carry heavy materials, up to 50–75 lbs regularly, and occasionally more with assistance · Move materials manually or with the use of machinery (e.g., wheelbarrows, dollies, forklifts) · Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and potential hazards · Set up and dismantle temporary structures, such as scaffolding, barricades, and ladders • Fine-grade fill material to levels as specified by the Superintendent or Carpenter • Assist with grout and concrete work as required • Maintain a clean and organized job site • Handle and store materials safely and efficiently • Ensure all tools and equipment are picked up and the job site is secured at the end of each day • Complete daily tasks on time and in accordance with project requirements • Follow safety protocols and perform all tasks in a safe, efficient manner, adhering to company policies Minimum Tool List for Carpenter Helper Carrying & Measuring Tools: • Nail bag or tool belt (with multiple pouches) • 25-foot tape measure (minimum) • Speed square (7-inch standard size) • 4-foot level • Chalk line (with blue or red chalk, depending on use) Hand Tools: • Hammer • Utility knives (with extra blades) • Screwdriver assortment (Phillips and flathead, multiple sizes) • Standard socket set (metric and SAE) • Combination wrench set (metric and SAE) • Channel locks or locking pliers (medium and large sizes) • Cutting pliers and/or dikes (side cutters) Power Tools: • Cordless drill set (drill and impact driver, with batteries and charger) • Circular saw (7 1/4-inch blade, cordless or corded) Job Type: Full-time Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour Experience: • Carpentry: 3 years (Preferred) Work Location: Multiple locations
