Full Time Travelling Carpenter/Maintenance Person - $50.00/hour

Small Town Hospitality is seeking a skilled and experienced Traveling Carpenter/Painter based in the Greater Twin Cities area for a full-time position. About Us: We own and operate a growing portfolio of twelve motels/hotels across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, South Dakota, Michigan, Iowa, and Nebraska, with plans to add new locations annually. The Opportunity: This unique role requires a self-motivated individual to travel to our various motel locations to perform renovations and ongoing maintenance. You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including room renovations, painting, general repairs, fixture installation, and furniture assembly. Travel Requirements: Initial travel for the first two trips will require the use of your own vehicle (mileage reimbursed). Subsequently, a company van can be provided. Travel distances from the Twin Cities will range from approximately 3 to 8 hours, depending on the property location. Responsibilities: • Perform carpentry work, including framing, door and window installation, and trim work. • Execute high-quality interior and exterior painting. • Complete drywall repairs, patching, and finishing. • Perform caulking around tubs, showers, and other fixtures. • Mount various fixtures (e.g., lighting, shelving, artwork). • Assemble furniture. • While most extensive plumbing and electrical work is contracted out, the ability to handle basic tasks such as toilet and faucet replacement, and swapping out outlets and light fixtures is preferred. • Maintain a clean and organized work environment. • Complete a weekly progress report detailing completed tasks. • Work independently with minimal direct supervision, taking pride in delivering efficient and high-quality results. Qualifications: • Proven experience in carpentry work with verifiable references. • Strong painting skills and experience. • Experience with drywall repair and finishing. • Ability to perform basic plumbing and electrical tasks. • Valid driver's license and a reasonably clean driving record. • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. • A proactive approach and attention to detail. Compensation & Benefits: • Full-time hours with a potential rotation schedule (e.g., 7-8 days on, 5 days off). • $50.00 per hour. • Company van provided (option to use personal vehicle initially and potentially ongoing). • Company-provided fuel. • Paid driving time. • $30.00 per day grocery/meal allowance while travelling. • All necessary tools and equipment provided. • W-2 employee status with bi-weekly direct deposit.
