Qualifications: Carpenter License required General Duties: • General carpentry work in various school buildings including all phases from rough carpentry to alterations and interior finish work and other related work. • Performs skilled carpentry work necessary to fabricate and assemble high-grade furniture. • Makes and repairs cabinets, cornices, bookcases and furniture. • Operates woodworking machines and power tools. • Performs hard finishing carpentry work of a highly skilled nature. Uses a variety of carpentry tools and performs such activities as measuring, sawing, squaring, sanding, fitting and fastening. • Constructs, alters and repairs structures, buildings, furniture, equipment and fixtures made of wood or similar materials. • Fabricates, alters and repairs structural workwork, floors, stairways and fixtures. • Performs such activities as measuring, sawing, squaring, drilling, sanding, fitting and fastening. • Performs repair of such equipment as desks, chairs, tables, shelves and panic devices. Hangs doors and repairs related hardware, rekeying existing locks and repair of locks. Repairs windows, frames and screens. • Work is performed in accordance with building codes and standard trade practices • Performs other carpentry duties as required by the Director of Maintenance or his/her designee.
