Company Description Northeast Arkansas-based construction company seeks experienced carpenters and construction professionals for commercial construction work. Job Description We're looking for carpenters with experience completing punch list and finish work. Our organization specializes in the expansion and remodeling of big-box retail stores. Due to the work primarily occurring in a retail environment, you must be willing to travel and work overnight for this position. As a commercial carpenter for our company you will be responsible for worker reporting, compliance reporting, site safety, and compliance training, interacting with project superintendents and subcontractors, coordinating trade work, and completing remodel millwork/laminating. ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES • Able to complete all phases of commercial remodeling. • Performs skilled wood construction and alteration work tasks on buildings including framing, trim carpentry, drywall, electrical, plumbing, roofing, flooring, tilework, etc. • Performs wood construction tasks which include finishing wood and laminate trim work, millwork, and retail fixture construction. • Operates and uses a variety of tools and equipment in the construction, alteration, and repair of buildings and facilities projects. • Clean and maintain worksite areas and follow all required safety practices. • Performs related duties as required. KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS • General knowledge of the standard practices, methods, tools, and materials of the general building construction trades. • Experience with metal stud framing (preferred/not required). • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade. • Ability to perform technical finish skill work in the building construction trades. • Ability to perform a variety of manual work in all weather conditions. • Ability to bend, stoop, sit, stand, crouch, and kneel. Ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials/equipment that may weigh up to forty-five (45) pounds. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Must have a minimum of five (5) years general building construction experience including two (2) years running crews. • Must possess a valid driver’s license. • Must be willing to travel (most projects are located in and around the Mid-South region). • Must be willing to work overnight due to the work primarily occurring in a retail environment.
