We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. Portzen Construction, Inc. is a general contractor located in Dubuque, IA. This is a full-time position that can be seasonal. Some travel may be required within a 150 mile radius of Dubuque. Responsibilities • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately • Assist in building concrete formwork, pouring and finishing concrete • Rough framing wood or steel studs • Finish carpentry including doors, cabinets, countertops, interior and exterior trim • Ability to take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed • Work with Foreman or Project Superintendent to successfully complete projects • Ability to understand carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction • Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools including but not limited to powered saw, hammers, rulers, etc. Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience • Must be at least 18 years old • Good understanding of basic math • Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times • High School diploma or equivalent is required to join the apprenticeship • No specific experience required when starting as a first level apprentice.
