The Finish Carpenter II builds doors, frameworks, windows and partitions as needed on behalf of Medxcel within the assigned working location of Henry Ford Main Campus - Detroit, MI. The Finish Carpenter II ensures that carpentry work is completed to meet applicable codes, standards and plans. The Finish Carpenter II also repairs fixtures such as doors, locks, cabinets, etc. Responsibilities Maintaining Facilities Structures: • Performs all work related to carpentry necessary to maintain building and equipment in proper condition. • Installs television hanger brackets as needed; installs air conditioners; removers and installs insulation; etc. • Performs construction type carpentry work, including erecting walls and partitions. • General carpenter repair jobs of furniture, fixtures, windows, shelves, cabinets, floors, etc. • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. • Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations. • Maintains tools and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability in safe operating condition. Locksmithing: • Repair and install all types of locks and doors as necessary. • Opens locks for which there is no key or existing combinations. • Maintains records on the issuance of all keys. • Operates and maintains various key machines. • Maintains shop master key boxes within the shop areas for accessibility to areas of the campus. Qualifications Education: • High School or GED by date of hire. • Graduate Carpentry Trade School - preferred. License/Certification: • Journeyman Carpenter License or equivalent certification/license - preferred. • Valid driver’s license - required.
