Skilled Construction Laborer

About the position The Skilled Construction Laborer plays a crucial role in performing carpentry and related work within the facilities of Memorial Healthcare. This position requires collaboration with the construction general foreman and other personnel in plant operations to ensure that projects are completed on time and adhere to safety standards. A strong understanding of patient and family-centered care is essential, as the laborer will interact with various stakeholders, including maintenance personnel, patients, and visitors. In this role, the laborer will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including general carpentry, drywall installation and finishing, and minor plumbing and electrical repairs. Attention to detail and the ability to follow and execute scopes of work with outstanding quality are critical. The laborer must maintain clean and organized job sites and adhere to industry and company safety protocols. Additional duties may be assigned as needed, reflecting the dynamic nature of the work environment. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and 3-5 years of experience in home maintenance, repair, and remodeling projects, with a solid working knowledge of commercial construction. The ability to read blueprints and specifications is also necessary. The laborer must possess essential physical abilities, including the capacity to stand, kneel, and lift items up to 100 lbs, as well as the ability to operate various tools and equipment safely. Construction Laborer

Job Title: Construction Laborer Job Description Working in a railyard performing manual labor tasks. Responsibilities include offloading construction materials from railcars using hand tools to open rail car doors and moving materials to designated locations. The job involves working in teams of two to open 3-4 doors, and occasionally using shovels and rakes to help offload materials. Daily use of sledge hammers, pry bars, and other hand tools is required. Will be driving between railyards in Lansing and Flint. Responsibilities • Offload construction materials from railcars • Work at 2 different locations (Flint/Lansing).
