We are looking for a new carpenter / material transporter to help with loading up deliveries and also help out onsite building as needed for installing high end aluminum, motorized louvered pergolas in the Jackson, Ann Arbor, Detroit, Pontiac, Lansing, Toledo areas. Responsibilities: - Help prep the crew by loading up material and tools at our Jackson location as needed per job order sheet given to you. -Deliver materials and/or tools to onsite crews with company vehicle and trailer. Jobs can be as far away as Macomb County, Toledo OH, or Grand Rapids. Most Jobs are in Oakland County. But the majority of your time will be at our Jackson facility. -when asked to help with onsite installations, you will be required to Measure, cut, set aluminum posts, beams, and gutters and make modifications to existing homes as needed for attachment. Installing these pergolas is a fun job, so you will have the opportunity to work in the field often, not just in a truck all day. Qualifications: - Have your own reliable transportation and driver's license. Pass drug test and background screening. - Ability to operate heavy machinery such as fork lift, small crane, heavy truck and trailer. -(No CDL required, but is a plus) - Ability to lift heavy beams overhead. - Proficient in using carpentry tools and equipment. - Strong knowledge of different carpentry techniques and methods - Excellent attention to detail and precision is a MUST - Good physical stamina and manual dexterity. - Strong problem-solving skills ORGANIZATION SKILLS IS REQUIRED We are a drug free alcohol free and tobacco free workplace (includes no vaping). If you can't go all day without any of those things...need not apply. High hourly rate $18-$35 for this position an hour to start depending on experience.
