Studies blueprints, sketches or structural plans for information pertaining to the type of material required, such as lumber or fiberboard, and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated. Selects specific types of lumber or other materials, prepares layouts including lines and grades, marks cutting and assembly lines on materials, shapes materials to prescribed measurements, assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together, Erects framework for structures and lays sub-flooring, builds stairs and lays out and installs partitions and cabinet work, Covers subfloor with building paper to keep out moisture and lays hardwood, parquet, and wood-strip-block floors, Fits and installs prefabricated window frames, doors, door frames, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finishes hardware such as locks, letter drops and kick plates, Constructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete, erects temporary platforms, steps, and ladders for assembling structures below ground, at ground level or above ground level, Fabricates formwork then loads, hauls, and carries it to the job site and installs per drawings, sketches, or plans, Sets grout forms for epoxy and cement grout, Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
