Candidates must have completed a bona fide apprenticeship, or have 8 years of previous experience, or have a combination of previous work experience and training equivalent to a bona fide apprenticeship program in the trade. • Proficiency in installing repairing: Furniture and hardware, stairs, scaffolding and wood platforms, weather stripping and caulking, wood fencing, floor coverings, signs, cut stencils for signs, wells, partitions, ceiling and related hardware, shields, windbreakers, canopies and curtains, paneling, plaster, bulletin boards, dispensers, mirrors. • Perform general building, office, plant and industrial equipment and machinery painting, excluding touch-ups in sub-station. • Install and replace windows (including hi-lo windows), floor, wall and ceiling tile. • Install permanently attached wood platforms in storage racks and dollies. • Cut Plexiglas, wood, masonite, plastic and celotex when required. • Perform cement and masonry repairs, floor patching and finishing, and set anchor bolts. • Hang metal and wooden doors, install door hardware and door jams. • Fabricate card holders, cabinets, paper holders and picture frames. • Fabricate crate machinery for shipment or storage.
