Skilled Trade - Carpenter-All Around - SE MI Locations - Dearborn, MI

This job posting is not location specific, it provides candidates to the locations in SE Michigan that have openings. Rate of Pay and Benefits: Carpenters are paid a top hourly base rate of $43.335, plus applicable shift, overtime, and holiday premiums. The starting rate for this position is $43.135 with pay increases to the top rate upon completion of three consecutive months of employment. Candidates must have completed a bona fide apprenticeship, or have 8 years of previous experience, or have a combination of previous work experience and training equivalent to a bona fide apprenticeship program in the trade. • Proficiency in installing repairing: Furniture and hardware, stairs, scaffolding and wood platforms, weather stripping and caulking, wood fencing, floor coverings, signs, cut stencils for signs, wells, partitions, ceiling and related hardware, shields, windbreakers, canopies and curtains, paneling, plaster, bulletin boards, dispensers, mirrors. • Perform general building, office, plant and industrial equipment and machinery painting, excluding touch-ups in sub-station. • Install and replace windows (including hi-lo windows), floor, wall and ceiling tile. • Install permanently attached wood platforms in storage racks and dollies. • Cut Plexiglas, wood, masonite, plastic and celotex when required. • Perform cement and masonry repairs, floor patching and finishing, and set anchor bolts. • Hang metal and wooden doors, install door hardware and door jams. • Fabricate card holders, cabinets, paper holders and picture frames. • Fabricate crate machinery for shipment or storage. Successful completion of a job interview, pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check are required. Drug panel does not include THC. Job Summary Under general direction, performs maintenance, repair fabrication, and installation of architectural building finishes, items/tasks such as: calculates quantity of materials needed and requisitions lumber, hardware and other supplies. Essential Functions • Responsible for locksmith duties including building maintenance program inspection and repairs. • Responsible for repairing any holes in walls larger than 16" x 16" in size, including taping, mudding and sanding. • Selects stock, tools and supplies such as fasteners and adhesives used to repairs architectural surfaces. • Removes and replaces non-functional hardware, cabinetry, counter-tops, shelving, partitions, doors, windows, walls, floors, furniture and building framework using power tools such as planer, sander, saws and drills or hand tools such as planes, chisels, rasps and saws (in a safe manner according to manufacturers and departmental guidelines) in a safe, effective and sufficient manner in response to or in support of customer needs. Range of Pay • Pay starting between $24.70 and $30.16 per hour.
