See More Details >>Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to operate and maintain large machinery used in construction, excavation, demolition, and site preparation. This role requires hands-on experience with dozers, backhoes, excavators, loaders, and other earth-moving equipment. The ideal candidate understands safety protocols, reads site plans, and can work efficiently in a team-driven environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring project timelines are met with precision and care. Responsibilities • Operate heavy equipment in accordance with safety guidelines and project specifications. • Perform daily inspections and maintenance on machinery to ensure functionality. • Move soil, gravel, rock, and other materials to prepare job sites or complete construction tasks. • Read and interpret site blueprints, layout markings, and grading plans. • Work closely with foremen and site supervisors to complete tasks as scheduled. • Ensure equipment is used safely and returned in proper working condition at the end of each shift. • Report any mechanical issues, safety hazards, or delays to supervisors immediately. Qualifications and Experience • Valid CDL and proven experience operating various types of heavy construction equipment. • Familiarity with safety regulations, excavation standards, and operational procedures. • Ability to interpret technical drawings and follow verbal instructions accurately. • Physically fit and capable of working in outdoor environments in all weather conditions. • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and productivity. • OSHA 10/30 or other safety certifications preferred but not required. Salary Pay varies based on route type, driver experience, and employment structure (company driver). Drivers can expect competitive per-mile rates, hourly wages, or percentage-based pay. Additional incentives may be offered for safe driving, fuel efficiency, and on-time delivery.
