About the position: • As our new Technical Support Engineer (Welder Fabricator) you will predominantly focus on growing our Service and Turnaround business within the EMEA region. Supporting our EMEA client base with the requirement for travel worldwide when required. • As a hybrid position you will be expected to support on-site turnaround projects in the EMEA region as well as support the wider team at our Zeeco facility in Stamford Rutland between projects. • This will predominately be a ‘hands on’ role and requires a dynamic individual who can adapt to travel requirements and provide technical support to our clients and internal sales members. Working across the EMEA region solving technical problems and providing innovative engineered solutions for our client base. Key responsibilities: • Welding and Fabrication tasks– (including but not limited to - Pipe fitting & Plate Welding positionally (6G) on carbon and stainless-steel material. Cutting, threading, machining, pipe forming). • Mechanical tasks – (including but not limited to – Disassembly/Reassembly, burner and component cleaning, insulation repair, painting and basic electrical checks on customer equipment). • Internal inspections and mechanical works inside heaters and boilers. • External work on elevated flares and ground flares (Including but not limited to welding, fabrication, basic electrical tasks). • Working with all Zeeco's combustion products and systems including flare systems, flare gas recovery, power, process burners, thermal oxidizers, BMS and associated pollution control equipment. • Identify potential End-user / parts opportunities and help develop potential opportunities / MSA agreements. • Conduct site surveys as part of a pre-turnaround inspection, planning, and scheduling requirement to develop commercial bids, technical finding reports and recommendations for future maintenance. • Take ownership of assigned projects as a ‘project lead’ and coordinate parts and service activities as required. • Support sales related tasks in the interest of growing the department and the team. • Support parts and reverse engineering related tasks in line wit our global ‘OTP’ efforts. • Working closely with Zeeco internal fabrication and execution team to follow-up and support order execution. Ensuring our proposed engineered solutions are fit for purpose and on time. • Knowledge & skills required: • Previous experience in a field service, maintenance, or practical based technical engineering role (desirable). • Previous experience and knowledge of the oil and gas industry, power industry, petrochemical, or process engineering (desirable). • Previous experience with combustion equipment such as flares, incinerators, boiler burners, process burners, etc. In either field service or technical sales. (desirable) • Experience in oil and gas turnarounds, plant shutdowns and maintenance activities. (desirable) • Contract management experience (Desirable) • Be self-motivated, flexible, enthusiastic and able to work under pressure. • Good computer skills Excell, PowerPoint, Word, etc. What type of person are we looking for?: • Ability and willingness to provide practical hands-on support to our clients and internal requirements when required. Including international field work at oil and gas facilities. • Innovative problem solver who can utilise their own initiative and determination to solve technical problems individually or as part of a team. • Good interpersonal skills and confident public speaker willing and comfortable with presenting to various levels from operation/maintenance staff and high-level management. • Ambitious individual with a strong desire to develop and grow as part of a dynamic team. • The ability to comfortably work independently or collaboratively. • Willingness to adapt and change in challenging environments to support the team and ensure deadlines and objectives are completed on time. • Ability to understand complex mechanical drawings and installations. • Note: Most projects run between 2 and 4 weeks - be prepared to commute to the office between work trips. • Must be UK based and within a 1-hour commute from our UK facility in Stamford, Rutland LE15 7QT. • Have relevant experience in either a mechanical, chemical, controls or electrical discipline. • Welding, fitting and fabrication backgrounds would be advantageous.
